The network just dropped its full 2026 Great American Christmas lineup, and if you’re already tired of hearing “it’s beginning to look a lot like the holiday movie season,” well, buckle up. Bure Is Doing It Again (Of Course She Is)

Candace Cameron Bure – the woman practically trademarked “Queen of Christmas” at this point – is starring in two holiday films this year. Two! Not gonna lie, at this point I’d be more surprised if she only did one. The kickoff film is called A Second Chance Christmas, and it’s got Jonathan Scarfe opposite her. This one’s actually getting a weird little rollout too: it premieres on Great American Pure Flix first, on Thursday, October 8, and then makes its “real” network debut two days later on Saturday, October 10, where it’ll also be streaming on GFAM+.

I know what you’re thinking. October 8th? For a Christmas movie? Look, I get the eye-roll instinct here, but this is basically the industry standard now. Hallmark’s done it. Lifetime’s done it. Everybody wants to own the “first Christmas movie of the season” title, and honestly, at this point the season starts sometime around the back-to-school sales. Fighting it feels pointless.

The staggered release pattern – Pure Flix first, then the main network and GFAM+ a couple days later – seems like it’s becoming the template here too. It’s a smart play, actually. Gives the streaming arm some exclusive breathing room before the broader audience piles on. Whether casual viewers even notice or care about that gap is a different question entirely.
